She spent several years in the hospital due to a devastating accident involving a riding lawnmower, which led to multiple surgeries. Art became a solace for her. Lisa has studied people’s faces for as long as she can remember. Mostly because she was on her back in the operating room, in traction or in an oxygen tent! All she had to pass the time was a pencil and some paper. Her love of portraiture started at that time.
Lisa is also classically trained in voice and studied flute professionally. Fine arts have played a huge part in her life. Lisa has been painting commissioned murals and portraits since the age of 16 ranging from landscapes to sports figures. Lisa and her husband share a studio in North Richland Hills

Pruitt Oil Workshop Oct. 16 - 18

June 14th, 2009 · No Comments

Don’t miss an opportunity to paint with popular award-winning contemporary artist, Elizabeth Pruitt

Elizabeth is known for her beautifully rendered floral paintings and mastery of the play of light on her subjects. She is the winner of the Tuffy Berg award at the 2008 CM Russel show in Great Falls, Montana. Her work shows in several galleries nationwide. Elizabeth is an excellent teacher that you will enjoy.

About Elizabeth Pruitt

Elizabeth was raised in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. As a child, her Grandmother would help her identify various wild flowers at their cabin above Oakley, Utah. This is where her love of flowers began. “I still have the book where I pressed and categorized wild flowers that my paternal Grandmother helped me with.” She began painting in her early 20’s but soon children became her priority and her love of painting became an occasional hobby. As the children grew, so did her desire to expand on her art. Life has taken her to Olathe, Kansas with her three children, Brittney, Justin, and Brooke. She now enjoys the freedom to devote full time to her art. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States and in the Ella Dunnegan Museum in Bolivar, MO. She has studied with master Decorative Artist, Mary Jo Leisure, and fine artists: Robert Daley, Tom Browning, Xiang Zhang, Gregg Kreutz, Robert Johnson, Sherrie McGraw, David Leffel, Dan Gerhartz, and Jeff Legg.

She is a member of “Oil Painters of America” , the Kansas City Art League, American Women Artist, and a Signature Member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painter’s Society. Elizabeth is the winner of the Tuffy Berg award at the 2008 CM Russel show in Great Falls, Montana. Her work shows in several galleries nationwide. Elizabeth is an excellent teacher that you will enjoy.
