Irving Art Association

The Irving Art Association Annual Awards Exhibit is usually held in May and occupies both the East and West Galleries at the JayCee Park Center for the Arts. Entry is open to IAA members only. You must have been a member for at least 90 days to be eligible to enter.

Calendar:

• April 10 Email or send CD of up to 3 jpg. images to Ron Stephens, Show Chairman at ronstephens2342@verizon.net or 2925 Linden Lea, Irving TX 75061 to arrive no later than midnight 4/10/09. Send $35 entry fee check made out to Irving Art Association c/o Ron Stephens, 2925 Linden Lea, Irving, TX 75061. Detach and send completed entry labels and entry form with check.
• April 17 Notice of acceptance sent.
• April 25 (10AM to 12 Noon) Hand deliver accepted artwork ONLY: to Jaycee Center for the Arts, 2000 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas. Phone (972)721 8063/2488.
• April 26 to May 28 Show on exhibit at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts
• May 3 (2PM to 4PM) Reception and Awards Ceremony at Jaycee CFA at Jaycee Park. Artists must be present to receive an award or must have a representative accept in their place.
• May 29 (10AM to 4PM) Pick up your artwork at Jaycee Center for the Arts. Award winning works are to be delivered by the artist with their ribbons to the Irving Arts Center New Talent Gallery between 11 am and 1 pm on May 29, 2009 and picked up by the artists on June 29, during the business day by noon. Artist must sign in at IAC office

For information on entering, check the Rules as posted in the Yearbook. A quick summary for 2009:

• Must be an IAA member in good standing - Members joining 90 days prior are eligible (by Jan. 31)
• All entries must be original (no workshop work; if based on photo must be artist’s photo)
• Work must be framed (when suitable). Not over 50 inches in either dimension. Plexiglas only for work over 16″x 20″ (exception pastels). No saw-tooth hangers.
• Competition will be juried.
• Fee: $35 for 1-3 entries.
